With over a decade of experience in the financial and healthcare sectors, Maya has honed a variety of skills. As a credentialing specialist at UW Health in Rockford, IL, she ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including CMS, NCQA, and The Joint Commission. Her role involves deep analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving, all crucial in managing a high volume of applications and maintaining the integrity of medical staff services.

Maya’s background also includes significant experience in the banking industry, where she managed a multi-million loan portfolio across several states. There, she brought her analytical skills and her ability to maintain critical relationships to bear. Her degree in Business Management from Judson University complements her practical experience, making her an invaluable asset to the TMG team and its collaborators.

I love spending time with my family and traveling.

What’s your dream vacation spot?
I would love to visit Belize to witness its beautiful cultural heritage, visit its beaches, and enjoy the Belizean cuisine.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I was a member of the first praise dance team to perform at the National Baptist Convention.

Which historical figure do you most admire?
Maya Angelou. She inspires me through the beauty and actions of her words in her unique writing style.

Which living person would you most like the opportunity to meet?
Michelle Obama. She exemplifies resilience, fearlessness, and elegance, which I admire.

What legacy do you want to leave the world?
I want to leave a legacy of love and generosity. I want to be remembered as a woman who inspired others, particularly young women, to be authentically themselves and chase their dreams and aspirations. I would like to also be remembered for being authentically myself in how I supported people and made them feel.

What’s your most treasured childhood possession that you still have?
A jewelry box my grandmother gave to me. It reminds me of each time she gave me a trinket to put in it. Each trinket represents a special memory of the time we spent together. As a child, she was my favorite person.

When was the last time you had a good belly laugh?
The other day, my youngest son told me a story about his day at school, which involves many jokes and lots of laughter.
